Nearing the end of 2018, I want to thank you all for the many comments, reads, views and shares of the nearly 200 posts from this year. Thank you to all who follow this site via email, via social media and also just through when someone else shares it and you give it a read.
My intention all along has to try and provoke thought, to be useful and helpful and to inspire you within your youthwork practices in the UK and around the world.
This year there have been over 20,000 views from more than 190 countries, and so, thank you to all of you.
The big announcement is that this site will continue exactly as it is. It will continue to contain blogs, articles, resources and links to many aspects of youth work and ministry, and it will also stay free. The trade off for this as you know is that you will encounter the odd advert or two, and also request from me for gifts or donations, these are all helpful. To those of you who have made a donation so far, thank you, even a small amount and on the days that you have done has been so generous and thoughtful, thank you.
However, I am in need of making my online life a little more productive from a financial point of view. So in January I will launch a Patreon Site. Which for a very small membership fee per month, you will be able to have the benefits of. There will be some exclusive content (not on here), and the articles will appear sooner, and without advertising. You will also be able to help me to develop my consultancy business and reach goals, including being able to offer training in youth work for a church in the UK for free (for every 150 new members).
The Patreon Site is under construction at the moment. But look out for links to it in the upcoming pieces in the remainder of the year. It will go live from early January. A Preview of the page is here: https://www.patreon.com/preview/7fe77e87f2864f06adc06aa58e6151cd
In the meantime, thank you again for your continued enjoyment of this site, I hope that it remains both useful, thoughtful and slightly provocative. Any ongoing donations of gifts of thanks are greatly appreciated , you can do this by clicking the paypal logo on the right (in the menu) or directly to the bank details in the ‘Please donate here’ page above. It may even be possible to set up a standing order to make regular donations to the paypal or my account, which would obviously help me a great deal.
A few changes to look forward to in 2019 as I try and expand the reach of ‘Learning from the Streets’ to another platform, as always I would love to hear your stories and share any guest posts you would like to contribute. I would also love to hear from you if you would like me to do some training, consultancy or supervision for your youth work/ministry practice.
Thank you for following Learning from the streets, and being part of the journey so far. I hope that you have a blessed Christmas and New year celebrations.
