EQUIP North East – Gap Year Programme

Equip North East is a partnership of a number of North East based Christian charites who are pulling together to create learning opportunities for people in the north east.

These include Durham YFC, Wearside YFC, Enon Baptist church, Bethany Christian Centre, Scripture Union, Sunderland Connect, North East YFC.

Our first initiative is a Gap Year Programme starting in September 2016.

Its for Young people aged 18+

Its for churches & Agencies in the North East England interested in hosting a Student for the year – if you’re quick this can be in September 2016, however, if you want to register and interest and start planning for 2017, do also contact us on the details on the website

If you’re a young person over 18 and want to do a gap year, in the north east, even in your local church to give you experience of youth work, schools work and childrens work, and get qualified during the year, then this might be for you!

As a Student you will complete a level 3 qualification in Theology & either Youthwork/schools work or childrens work, through Moorlands Bible college. Training is provided by local experts in the subjects, mostly from the agencies above, all of which have got qualifications in the subjects, all will take place in the North East- probably Sunderland or Newcastle.

If you are not able to do the gap year but want to do the accredited training then this is also an option – see the details on the website below:
